SEBHORREA DERMATITIS - ECZEMA OF THE SCALP:

Eczema of the scalp is often confused with dandruff and visa versa. A common form of eczema but localised to the scalp area and in cases is associated with eczema of the face and neck and ears.

Classic symptoms are :

    Itchy scalp
    Dry and flaking skin
    Small sores

Treatment Options:

Firstly determine that you do have eczema and not dandruff. This can easily be checked by using a medicated dandruff shampoo that is designed to kill off dandruff forming bacteria. If after several weeks of use there is no change, then you can assume that you do not have dandruff and start to focus on clearing up the eczema.

Treatment
Only wash with a natural soap that has no chemical or perfume additives for example the Dermaphend Liquid Soap (can also be used as a Shampoo)
Use a non petrochemical based conditioner to help with the dry and itchy skin.
If there is eczema on your neck, face and ears, then also refer to section "Contact Dermatitis"
