Chaos at Kyalami.
Friday 29th August was the first time Britt had ever raced on the Kyalami circuit. With this new track, came a new set-up and a new strategy, and everyone know that this would definitely prove to be an interesting weekend of racing.

In the original programme the drivers were allowed four practice sessions and finally the qualifying before the main races on Saturday.
There were too many classes racing this weekend, more than anything Kyalami had seen at one time, and just like most big events everything does not always go to plan.
Due to the amount of entrants, the formula GTi’s practices were cut short, leaving Brittany with just ten minutes to learn the new track.

During the final qualifying session of the day, Britt experienced technical problems with her car and was unable to qualify, leaving her to start at the back of the GTi grid.

Saturday started off with a bang, the starting line up was filled with 54 cars on the grid, consisting of Formula GTi, Formula Vee, Fords, Formula M’s and champ cars.
This was a very dangerous combination as the classes all drive at different top speed, and with a combination of rookies and veterans high speed action was highly anticipated.

In the first race Brittany began in 11th position. She moved up four places in the first lap and after consistent racing finished 4th. After receiving a 2.5 second penalty for passing under the yellow flag, she eventually placed 5th after the first race.

In the second race Brittany moved down to 3rd position, unfortunately she had a bit of a run in with a Formula ford which pushed her off to the side of the track. Britt however managed to finish 5th in the race and placed 4th for the day.

“I like this track a lot, its very technical, physical and fast, however I would have liked more time to learn it, but I will never race against all these rookies and different race categories together as it was very dangerous out there and some drivers were making some very stupid moves that can cause serious accidents”
